Nothern Elders Forum
In the course of its ten year existence the Northern Elders Forum has successfully elevated itself into a foremost, nationally if not internationally, recognized powerful voice for fostering, championing and advocating for the collective well-being and developmental aspirations of the Northern Region of Nigeria made up of the its zones to wit, Northeast, Northwest and North Central, in the context of the aims and aspirations of a united, constitutionally democratic, fair, just and equitable Federal Republic of Nigeria. Thus The Northern Elders’ Forum (NEF) has enjoyed a glorious past both in name and visibility as a force to reckon with in the affairs of the former Northern Region of Nigeria. It has been well respected within and outside the country. With such antecedent, the Forum has had and continues to have the potential to help achieve well planned goals and objectives that could hopefully change the fortunes of the Region considerably, by overcoming its developmental challenges from the aspirational to realistic regeneration. With the momentum it had gathered the Forum has been at the threshold of securing positive attention towards achieving equitable apportionment of developmental projects in the region vis-a-vis other parts of the country.
